Groups

I've recently decided to get serious with my creative endeavors, so this page will receive a lot more attention from this point on. Once my SoundCloud is fully set up, I will post a link to that.

I am open to commission as a composer. If interested, email a proposal and we can discuss whether or not it is a possibility.
  • Listening to: Arvo Pärt, David Lang, etc.
  • Reading: A Tale of Two Cities

Thank you very much for the watch. May I ask, how I came to deserve this honor? Most certainly not because of my work 'Can you hear', right?

It was actually through a mention, which led me to read "The first chime," which I though was rather well-written. Your work, 'Can you hear?' is interesting. The strophes each took to the melody quite well. Speaking of the melody, it sounds a bit familiar. Is it adapted from somewhere else?

I kinda figured it was through Chen's mention :)

I'm glad you liked both 'The first chime' as well as 'Can you hear'.
Regarding the melody, it's very hard to come up with something completely original these days, as you may imagine and in about every piece of music you'll find some motive or another from another piece if you just keep looking long enough. (There's only about 24 notes you can use in varying length and order to make your own sound after all ;))

Anyway, to get back to your question, if I recall correctly, the song isn't exactly an 'adaption', but the main theme is inspired by a church song...unfortunately I forgot, which song that was.

If it reminds you of something else, that similarity is purely coincidental though. :)

Thank you.  I did a little scribbling this weekend.  Depending on how recovery goes, it will probably be mid-summer before I can post anything new.  I'm sure it will all work out just fine.
Have a great night :)
